Oregon Law Commission

The Oregon Law Commission (The Commission) is the neutral, nonpartisan law reform body for the State of Oregon.

The Commission was created in 1997 by the Legislative Assembly to conduct a continuous program of law reform. There are many methods for reforming Oregon laws, including simplifying, modernizing, and consolidating statutory provisions. In addition, the Commission proposes new substantive and procedural provisions to improve and fill gaps in Oregon law.
